Ashe explained that the gig only requires a computer and is “stupid easy” to complete.
She advised that those interested in getting some extra cash head to Rev.com.
Rev is a company that provides annotating and speech-to-text services.
Ashe explained that Rev hires freelancers to help with that process and pays per word but also per minute up to $12.
She also noted that the freelancing opportunity is “pretty flexible,” allowing for hours that you can determine.

That means those who want to make it a full-time gig or work up to an additional eight hours per day could bring in $700.
Keep that up for a month, and you could bring in around $14,000.
Of course, that’s the highest-end possible for the annotating and transcribing side hustle.
Rev notes on its website that most freelancers bring in an extra $245 per month on average, with top earnings being around $1,495 monthly.

Ashe also emphasized that it wouldn’t be what it might seem to just sit at your computer typing for eight hours straight.
She advised freelancers to take advantage of a savvy trick — opening a Microsoft Word document and using the dictate feature.
That way, they can use the speech from Rev and help funnel it into text, cutting themselves out as the middle-man.
Pair that with doing your own typing, and you could get a lot done and make some serious money through the side hustle.
Side hustles and tax implications
Extra income you make from side hustles may need to be reported to the IRS.
If you receive more than $600 in gross payouts from a selling platform like eBay, the site will issue you a Form 1099-K to use in your tax return.
