Fox announced the NFL assignments for Week 11 with the season heating up.

And the listings also showed that Johnson would not be on Fox NFL Sunday.

The former Dallas Cowboys coach joined the entire crew this past weekend for a special show.

Fox broadcast a two-hour edition of their pregame show from the Naval Base San Diego.

The program was a tribute to the military ahead of veterans day.

And during that program, Terry Bradshaw turned to Johnson to make an observation.

Former Steelers quarterback Bradshaw saw Rob Gronkowski sat next to the 81-year-old.

“It’s going to be a great day. It’s good to have Gronk up here,” Bradshaw said.

“We never have Jimmy and Gronk together so it’s nice to introduce them.”

And Gronkowski replied, “The band is back together baby.”

Johnson had an eventful show Sunday at the military base.

The former coach was on the wrong end of a joke from Michael Strahan.

The Fox crew were joined by a live crowd of military members for the two-hour show.

As they came back from commercial, cameras panned to an audience member with a Dallas Cowboys tattoo.

Host Curt Menefee joked that the fan might have some regrets over the ink, given Dallas’ plight.

The Tom Brady domino effect

Tom Brady will take his seat in Fox's top NFL announce team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

And his arrival at the network has set off a domino effect with every other announcer moving down one spot.

That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature entirely new broadcast pairings.

Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announce team with Joe Davis.

The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:

  • Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
  • Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
  • Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
  • Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth

The Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1995, which was their third title in four years.

And Johnson, 81, declared, “Hold onto that tattoo, it will be OK in a couple years.”

But Strahan jumped in with a joke at Dallas and Johnson’s expense.

“You’ve been saying that for the last 20 years,” Strahan laughed.

Johnson won two Super Bowls as coach of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s.

Strahan, meanwhile, spent his entire career with Dallas’ rivals the New York Giants and won the Super Bowl in 2007.
