Rain warnings for the city have been amended as the Met Office is advising wind speeds will build throughout Saturday evening.
Storm Bert has already brought heavy rain to the city and surrounding areas but it’s not finished yet.
With rail services suspended north of the city the Met Office has amended its rain warning to be focused on Preston and Lancashire.
The Met Office forecast shows intense rainfall between 1am to 3am on Sunday (24 November) for Preston and gusts of more than 40mph.
During Saturday evening rain is expected and wind speeds building up to 30mph and faster.
Flood alerts are in place for the River Ribble, River Darwen and a number of other rivers and brooks to the north and south of the city.
However, Storm Bert is due to blow itself out earlier than planned with the rain warning easing from 7am rather than 9am on Sunday.
Sunday itself is now expected to be bright and breezy.
