THE NFL has made a major decision on it’s drug-testing policies with players now facing new fines.

The NFL Players’ Association updated it’s “Drug Policies” this week.

Saquon Barkley publicly revealed he was drug tested after a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars[/caption]

And there is set to be a crackdown on players making public statements.

Among the new policies is a “$15,000 fine for recording and posting” about the “collection process.”

Players are subject to random drug tests in the league.

They often occur after somebody has had a big day and performed exceptionally.

Saquon Barkley had a massive game for the Philadelphia Eagles last month.

He had 199 total yards and two touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 3.

And the running back also pulled off a never before seen “reverse hurdle” jump on a defender.

And he revealed in an interview afterwards, “I got drug tested right after the game.”

But the new policies have been designed to deter players from making public statements about drug testing.

They have been agreed on by the NFL and the NFLPA.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero sent a “pretty funny” memo from the NFLPA to his followers on X.

It was a screenshot of a FAQ sheet which was sent to players about the new rules.

The NFLPA listed three questions on the sheet – all of which had just a one-word answer “no.”

The policy also cleared up that it was always against the rules to post publicly about drug testing.

And it added, “however, there was no clearly defined framework.

“Which meant the league had the discretions to impose fines that could have exceeded $15,000.”

Pat McAfee jokingly replied “RIP” to the tweet saying it was the end of funny social media statements about the matter.

One fan wrote, “It seems like a heavy penalty for something that’s usually just a routine part of the game.

“Hope this doesn’t create unnecessary tension.”

Another posted, “I think transparency is needed for the integrity of the game.”
