The Cowboys didn’t mince their words about the injury after the game, with head coach Mike McCarthy describing it as “of a serious nature” and “not good.”

Sources believe that Overshown tore his ACL and multiple other ligaments in his knee when he got hurt.

He will receive further testing on Tuesday to confirm the severity of the injury.

Overshown sustained the injury during a pileup in the fourth quarter when his right leg got bent in.

He was unable to move the leg on the field before the medical team made it to him and brought him to the locker room.

Star linebacker Micah Parsons was among the most emotional about the injury after the game.

He left the game before the clock hit zero to go back to the locker room.

“I cried,” Parsons said.

“It’s like my little bro, bro. He doesn’t deserve that, either. He really don’t.

“Just to understand what he’s going to go through and to be there for him physically, mentally.

“It’s just so challenging because of the year he was having. I really just don’t think that’s fair, either.”

Overshown entered the Cowboys-Bengals game as Dallas’ second-leading tackler.

He missed his rookie season with a torn ACL in his left leg in 2023, and will now likely miss the remainder of this year and some of next year with the injury to his right leg.

“I think the whole sideline felt that because it didn’t look good,” McCarthy said.

“It definitely hit a lot of the guys.”
