Work has started on the new fish and chips restaurant which is set to be in old Tinos.

The much-loved eatery – on Hill Street, overlooking Ringway – closed down over 12 months ago after more than 20 years of being run by the same couple.

Work has been taking place on FRYDAY which is set to be a takeaway and restaurant.

Preston City Council planning officers gave the go-ahead to the fish and chip business in August, which will also feature a separate coffee lounge and a second cafe – the latter of which will incorporate an outdoor seating area on Seed Street.

The opening date is still not confirmed but passers by have seen work taking place.

The new restaurant, coffee lounge and café will take over the upper ground floor on which Tinos was previously based. Residential apartments are said to remain on the top floors of the part three, part four-storey building.
