Police uncover cash and Class A drugs after stopping car with defective rear light

Drugs and cash were found in a car after police stopped it for a defective rear light.

Lancashire Police’s specialist operations team pulled over the vehicle in South Ribble during Thursday 12 December evening.

Police say the driver was tested for drugs and found to have a positive result for use of cannabis and cocaine.

Searches of the vehicle uncovered cash and Class A drugs along with a number of mobile phones.

A police spokesperson said: “The driver was arrested for numerous offences and it turns out the rear lights were the least of his worries.

“It’s fair to say that the person behind all this was definitely on Santa’s naughty list and the only present he had from us for Christmas was a concrete bed for the evening.”

No age was given of the person arrested or details of where the arrests took place.
