Police are investigating whether a man's fatal shooting in Melbourne's north overnight had links to organised crime.
A man, aged 60, was allegedly shot in the stomach on Gentles Avenue in Campbellfield about 10.10pm.
Bangs rang out as a car was seen speeding away from the scene.

Officers found the man suffering from significant and life-threatening injuries on a nature strip.
He was transported to hospital but died from his injuries.
9News understands the victim had arrived at the address to visit a friend when he was gunned down.
Security vision captured a car pulling up less than ten minutes before the gunfire began.
It's believed the man may have been followed and ambushed.
9News also understands that police are investigating whether there are any links to organised crime.
"Homicide squad will canvas all avenues available to them seeking witnesses," police said.

Two men, a 20-year-old from Yarraville and a 22-year-old from West Meadows, later arrived at a hospital with injuries, which set off alarm bells for investigators.
The pair are under police guard and will be interviewed by police.
It is believed the parties allegedly involved are known to each other.
Less than an hour after the shooting, a Porsche went up in flames on the nearby Northbourne Road and a hooded figure was seen running away.
Police are working to determine if the burnt car is linked to the shooting.
A section of the road is closed as forensic teams hunt for clues.
