Tile Quarry and Miles Living opened on North Road earlier this month.

The new tile business Tile Quarry hosted their first “Trade Day” inviting their suppliers, local tradespeople and the Mayor of Preston and Councillor Yakub Patel to the store.

The store is described as an informal space where their customers are welcomed in to relax with a drink and feel at ease when choosing tiles.

Luckman Ismail, founder of Tile Quarry, has been working for 20 years in the industry and has now advanced to creating his own space, providing high-quality products for competitive prices.

Customers at Tile Quarry are valued as they are partners of the business.

The company is said to value relationships over profits which is also reflected in the owner’s charity, Paradise Gems.

Owners Luckman Ismail and Sajedah Maka-Ismail, the owners of Tile Quarry, are also founders of Paradise Gems, a non-profit charity organisation, set up in August 2022, specialising in the care and education for the Special Education Needs and Development of children and young people.

Operating currently from Frenchwood Community Primary School, Preston, Paradise Gems’ office is on the first floor of Project House, Preston where the showroom of Tile Quarry is located.

Paradise Gems use this space to also arrange monthly events for the carers of the students. The first event was held on 17th December.

A sister company of Tile Quarry, Miles Living, was founded by co-owner of Tile Quarry, Sajedah Maka-Ismail, who is also a former student at UCLan.

After working in the construction industry for over 20 years, Sajedah offers bespoke Interior Design packages for clients within the company for developers and homeowners in the renovation period.
