A free talk in Preston will cover how elite athletes combine training and working.
Champion powerlifter Bobbie Butters will explain how she juggles the two at the event in the new year.
The athlete – who has represented Team GB and is a two-time European Powerlifting Champion – will discuss the intricacies of her training schedule as she journeys toward the World Games 2025.
Lifting competitively for more than a decade, Bobbie has represented her country 10 times. She competes in the 57kg weight category and has lifted more than three times her own bodyweight during squat lift competitions.
Bobbie is also a full-time University of Central Lancashire lecturer in sports and exercise science, a strength and conditioning coach, and a PhD student.

Bobbie said: “My free public talk will give people a real insight into what I go through being an athlete while working full time.
“There are only so many hours in the day, and it often feels like it’s not enough. As well as discussing my physical training methods, I’ll be talking about the mental strategies and managing stress, and the time management needed to remain disciplined in both work and rest.”
The talk, titled Athletes in the Working World, is being organised by the University of Central Lancashire.
It will take place on Thursday 16 January in Foster Lecture Theatre 3, in Foster Building, Fylde Road. Doors open at 5.40pm, the lecture starts at 6pm, and a question-and-answer session starts at 7.30pm.
You can book tickets on Eventbrite.
