So this is Christmas, we hope you’re having fun.
In amongst the presents, the cooking and general rushing about thanks for taking a moment to read Blog Preston before it all begins – or maybe you’re just settling down exhausted on the sofa having gone ‘Christmas. Completed it’.
We’ve been marking our 15th year of operating in the city this year – and some things have changed, others are reassuringly familiar.
One thing that is certain is the kindness and community-mindedness of Prestonians.
One glance at our Proud Preston section never fails to remind us of the good deeds being done in the city and its surrounding area. Well done to all those who are out there helping someone else this Christmas Day – from emergency services, to volunteers, to charities, there’s no end of people who are going to be celebrating Christmas later on due to their selfless actions.
There’s still news on Blog Preston throughout this Christmas period. We’re not an emergency service, but local journalism has a part to play each day in the fabric and life of the city. So if there’s something happening, we’ll be pushing the cheese [or vegan cheese in Kate’s case] board to one side and making sure you’re kept informed.
A big thank you for reading Blog Preston, our 15th year has seen more people than ever see our stories and we couldn’t do that without your support.
Our thanks to for everyone who writes for, takes photos, videos, tips us off about stories, sends things in and just gets involved in all things Blog Preston.
We also take a moment to remember those who aren’t with us this Christmas, RIP to Paul and Tony who did so much to help establish Blog Preston over the years. We miss you both.
2025 promises to be quite the year for the city, and hopefully for Blog Preston too.
Thanks for your continued support and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Ed, Kate, Luke, Sophie, Charlotte, Ellie, Steve, Alice, Lisa, Louise, Karen, Ben, Dave and Jamie
