In pictures: Fresh dusting of snow as Preston’s big freeze continues

Preston awoke to a further dusting of snow during Thursday and it’s continued the Winter Wonderland feel to the city.

City photographers have been out – walking carefully in icy conditions – to snap the snowy scenes.

A frozen canal, wildlife looking for a meal and the city’s green spaces looking very frosty indeed.

Preston has been in the grip of an icy spell since Saturday evening when heavy snow arrived overnight.

Temperatures have dropped to -5 on some nights in the city and Wednesday night and early in Thursday morning was no exception.

No snow warning was issued for Preston, with a Met Office warning just missing the city but it didn’t stop a light dusting from falling.
