No15 Cafe House on Priory Lane, Penwortham

After the Christmas rush, my husband Simon and I decided to have a relaxing breakfast out, although by the time I got ready it was more like brunch, and I was a little worried we might miss the breakfast food altogether.

Courtesy of Google’s ‘breakfast near me’ we headed to No15 on Priory Lane in Penwortham just before 11am.

It was a lovely little place with a calm feel to it (just what we needed!) and we were quickly shown to our table. It was definitely the right time to arrive as the nearer it got to lunchtime the busier the café became.

I was delighted to see breakfast food still on the menu and whilst the menu had something for everyone, people were also coming in for tea and a cake from the counter full of tasty treats.

I was tempted by the Breakfast Barm on a Gourmet Brioche, but I went for the No15 Pancake Stack (£9) and added a fried egg (£1.50) with a Tea (£2.50), and Simon picked the No 15 Classic Breakfast (£11.50) and an Americano (£2.90).

A jug of maple syrup was served on the side of my pancakes and ready to pour. The pancakes were so fluffy and had a perfect crispy edge, sweet with a hint of salt and the best pancakes I’ve had in a long time.

It’s my new go to for a pancake craving. Simon loved his breakfast; everything was fresh and tasty, and the pork and leek sausages were exceptional.

I pinched a bit of hash brown and sausage, and they were yum. In fact, the sausage worked well with my pancakes, I might swap my egg for sausage next time.

Totalling £27.90, we will definitely be back as the food was perfecto and I was stuffed so there was no issue with portion size.

The service was lovely despite getting busy and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast out.

But wait… after we paid the bill, we wandered through a side door into MacMillans gift shop which I had no idea was there.

It is deceivingly big with an amazing selection of gifts or just a lot of nice things for yourself.

So not only can you enjoy, breakfast, brunch, lunch, or cakes, you can have a little wander around the lovely shop next door, a little mini morning jolly.

I might’ve started a mission to find the best pancakes, these will be hard to beat. Where have you had the best pancakes in Preston?

I’m not drooling, you are.
