St Paul’s Road in Deepdale shut due to two-car crash

A busy road in Deepdale was closed off by emergency services during Thursday (30 January) afternoon.

Preston Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service attended a crash between two cars.

St Paul’s Road and Essex Street were closed while crews worked at the scene and police officers diverted traffic.

A police spokesperson said they were called around 3.40pm and the road remained closed as of 4.45pm while recovery of the vehicles takes place.

An eyewitness told Blog Preston the road had been closed near to the Chai Stop towards the Essex Street junction.

No one is understood to be hurt in the crash.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Firefighters assisted police to move a vehicle off the roadway and they were at the scene for just over 20 minutes.”
