A step on moving forward a tram line for the city has taken place over the weekend.
Preston Trampower has been making designs for utilising a section of the old Preston to Longridge railway line as a tram track for more than a decade.
Land at Skeffington Road to Kent Street in Deepdale has become a dumping ground for waste – and was due to be part of a new test track to demonstrate the self-built trams.

Led by volunteer Andy Pratt the group have worked to clear rubbish and foliage which has become overgrown on the track.
Mr Pratt said: “The long term vision is to create an Urban Oasis – with a public access route into the city.”
He said anyone who is willing to help or sponsor the clean-up at Skeffington Road can contact him on [email protected]
Last year Trampower said the scheme had not moved forward because of a dispute between themselves, Preston City Council and Network Rail about clearing the site. Network Rail responded saying here was nothing to stop Trampower getting started on the site.
