Gideon Allen, AKA Preston’s part-time witch, will be appearing in an episode of a new BBC One series featuring Sara Davies from Dragons’ Den.
Gideon, from Preston, will be on episode 13 of ‘The Big Idea Works’.
The programme sees everyday inventors, such as Gideon, bring forward their creations. Then, Sara with her expert team of engineers and fabricators helps bring them to life.

Gideon said: “As Preston’s Part-Time Witch, it feels rather fitting to be on episode 13—a number long associated with witches and folklore.
“But instead of spells and potions, I’ve been working on something a little different: a wearable sleep aid designed to enhance rest and relaxation for busy professionals and frequent travellers.
“Being part of this process was an incredible experience—seeing my idea go from concept to reality was truly magical, almost like casting a spell!”

Gideon’s non-medical solution, which he hinted about when speaking to Blog Preston in August, aims to improve sleep quality, reduce fatigue and optimise short-duration sleep.
He hopes his product will help people feel more refreshed and energised without relying on medication.
Beyond the show, Gideon also plans to display the prototypes at the Harris Museum later this year.
He added: “Showcasing my invention in such an iconic local institution is a huge honour, and I hope it will inspire others to pursue their own creative ideas—whether they’re rooted in science, theatre, or even a little bit of magic!”
The series, ‘The Big Idea Works’ launched on Monday (3 February) and Gideon’s will be shown on Wednesday 19 February at 2pm on BBC One.
