A historic pub in the centre of Preston has closed its doors.
Ye Olde Blue Bell in Church Street is part of the Samuel Smiths brewery chain.
The pub is understood to have closed in the past week with no new operators in place – a sign in the window appeals for new landlords.

Given a facelift in recent years the Bluebell is a grade-II listed building.
It was first listed in 1979 and the pub dates back to 1716.
Blog Preston contacted the Samuel Smiths group for comment but received no response. We visited the pub during Tuesday evening but found all the doors closed.

The North Yorkshire-based brewery runs traditional pubs around the country and has strict rules on mobile phones, laptops or tablets inside the pub along with no TVs or music being played.
