The employee at the Kunes Buick GMC who wrote the racial slur on the ticket has since been fired, as reported by Fox’s local Wisconsin affiliate, WITI.
Although Makayla Starks brought her car to a Kunes dealership, word of the horrible incident spread to another auto shop in New York.
The viral story had reached Family Nissan dealership which is over 900 miles away.
The owner of the New York dealership, Ramzey Rizk, had a big surprise for unsuspecting Starks.
He gifted her an all-electric Nissan Leaf.
Starks said she’s thankful the horrible situation had a silver lining.
Rizk said he chose that particular car so the Wisconsin driver would never have to visit the first dealership ever again.
“We were frustrated, we were upset,” Rizk said. “The team here at Family Nissan actually pushed me to call FOX6.”
“It wasn’t so much about giving her a car,” he added.
“It was about giving her an electric car that doesn’t need any more oil changes ever again.”
Although she’s still reeling from the incident, Starks said she’s extremely grateful for Rizk’s gift as it will be super helpful for her and her family.
“The incident with the oil change sticker happened so that was pretty painful and harmful,” Starks said told WITI.
“The universe shows up in kind of strange ways. And I think the silver lining is that I’m unexpectedly getting a car out of all of this, which would be very helpful for my family.”
Starks’ fiance, Joey Keopp, and her attorney, William Sulton, were also shocked by the gift.

“I don’t think anybody saw anything like a vehicle being gifted coming out of this,” Keopp said.
Sulton said it was truly an act of “kindness” and it will be paid forward.
The Family Nissan dealership posted about the incident on their Facebook page and received several positive comments from followers.
“Very thoughtful and kind of Family Nissan, which isn’t something new, they are well known of giving back,” one Facebook user said.
“Very nice approach from a good man,” another echoed.
On Friday, Starks will be catching a flight to New York to receive the Nissan Leaf from Rizk.
Starks told WITI that she would not be keeping her old car.
In the meantime, the Kunes dealership said they are still investigating the situation.
Kunes dealership did not immediately reply to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
