Striking new aerial images show how work has started on the latest Grimsargh housing development.
The photos, taken by Mark Ashmore, reveal how the land off Preston Road is being prepared for a development of bungalows for the over-55s, plus a care home.
The plans, which were originally approved more than six years ago, initially contained residential apartments and a health centre, but these were removed from later iterations of the planning proposal.

And with work now underway, the plan is for 48 bungalows to occupy the site and the care home to have a capacity of 72 rooms.

The plans, submitted by Applethwaite Ltd, were approved by Preston City Council last December.
At the time, several committee members – while recognising the benefits of the scheme – expressed concern that the development was taking place in an area of open countryside.
Cllr Harry Landless said it was a ‘great pity’ when there were alternative previously built-upon sites nearby – but added that proposed properties would be ‘highly desirable’.
News that work had started on the site has also prompted concerns to be expressed on local Facebook groups, with some people questioning when the building of homes between Preston and Grimsargh would end, while others asked why the surge in housebuilding was not being accompanied by the provision of essential services such as new schools, GP surgeries and dentists.
