NEW hats have been pulled from Major League Baseball merch shops after fans discovered shockingly vulgar messages on them.

MLB’s new Overlap hats caused chaos as the new design printed each team’s logo on top of the team names, accidentally creating some bizarre – and a few inappropriate – mashups.

A majority of New Era’s Overlap hats are still available for $44.99 in MLB stores[/caption]

New Era, MLB’s official hatmaker, released the line for all 30 teams, with each logo sporting the new designs ahead of the upcoming season.

But as of Wednesday, at least two of the hats were pulled from stores after baseball fans pointed out the offensive superimposed logos.

The first hat to go viral over the weekend was the Texas Rangers hat.

By putting the Rangers’ “T” logo over the word Texas, the hat seemingly said a vulgar Spanish word for breasts.

The hat is no longer available to buy on the MLB or the Rangers’ online stores.

However, fans were quick to sell the crass merch on eBay. A listing for the hat is now up for just $36.

The Los Angeles Angels hat, reading “Anaels,” was the next to be pulled from shops.

The hat was quickly sold on eBay for $44.99 after one fan was quick to get their hands on it.

The majority of the confusing collection is still available for fans to buy.

The other harmless hats included the Houston Astros hat, which seemed to read “Ashos.”

The Astros hat is available on the team’s site.

Meanwhile, the Miami Marlins hat has been left to read “MMmi.”

Philadelphia Phillies fans can also sport a hat for the “PhiPlies.”

The Arizona Diamondbacks hat appears to say “Ariana,” while the Boston Red Sox hat declares “Bobon.”

Unfortunate Overlap hat designs

The new MLB hats feature mashups creating some of the following designs:

  • Texas Rangers – Tetas
  • Houston Astros – Ashos
  • Los Angeles Angels – Anaels
  • Seattle Mariners – Masers
  • Boston Red Sox – Bobon
  • Miami Marlins – Mmmi Marlins
  • Washington Narwhals – Nawals
  • Philadelphia Phillies – Phiplies
  • Arizona Diamondbacks – Arianas

The MLB declined to comment on the mess-ups, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The affected teams haven’t said anything about the viral hats.

Fans were ruthless about the mess-ups on social media as pictures of the vulgar messages circulated.

“Guys what are we doing here? How has this been signed off!” one wrote on X.

Another added, “lol New Era is terrible. They just keep pushing out the worst designs every week. But people do buy them I guess.”

“What were New Era thinking?” a third wrote.

New Era and MLB haven’t returned The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

MLB Opening Day is on Thursday, March 27.
