Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has trotted out some Gen Z slang in parliament to criticise the opposition as his government's proposed $17.1 billion tax cuts passed the lower house.
The federal Labor government is attempting to legislate two per cent tax cuts over two years for all taxpayers, which was announced in last night's federal budget, but the Coalition has vowed to oppose it.
Albanese spruiked the legislation in the House of Representatives this morning while attacking Opposition Leader Peter Dutton's nuclear power plan.

"That's the most expensive form of new energy possible sometime in the 2040s and a plan that the private sector won't ever barrel, which is why it's got to be funded by the taxpayer, which is why they will have to cut help to education, to services, to housing, to public servants, or cuts to everything," he said.
"The only cut [Dutton] doesn't want is a cut to people's taxes."
After continuing to attack the opposition's pre-election policies, Albanese said: "Well, Mr Speaker, they are delulu with no solulu."
To translate, the prime minister is saying the Coalition is "delusional with no solution".
The phrase "delulu" was popularised by Gen Z and TikTok and reached its peak use in Australia in September 2023, according to Google Trends.
Albanese was met with laughter from his side of the bench and shouts from the other.

Shadow treasurer Angus Taylor last night said the Coalition would oppose the tax cuts before they duly voted against the legislation when it went before the lower house.
The bill passed the House of Representatives but has opened up an opportunity for the government to attack the opposition for voting against tax cuts with an election looming.
"To vote against this legislation would be to stand against more cost-of-living relief that Australians need and deserve," Treasurer Jim Chalmers said, while Albanese took to social media to post: "NEWS: Peter Dutton and the Liberals just voted against giving you more tax cuts".

The tax cuts will now go before the Senate.
While the government handed down their policies last night, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton will wait until his official response speech tomorrow night to reveal his party's push for "lower, simpler, fairer taxes" if elected.
"We'll have the budget in reply response on Thursday, as you point out, and we'll save our detail for then," he told 9news.
Dutton did confirm that cost of living relief, home ownership and national security would be priorities for his potential government.
He has also previously touted his own tax policy to allow small businesses a $20,000 deduction for business-related meals and entertainment and a potential referendum on deporting dual citizens who have committed a serious offence.

Dutton has promised to match Labor's reform to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, meaning four out of five medicines listed will have their cost slashed from $31.60 to $25, saving Australians $200 million a year.
He has also said he would match the $8.5 billion boost to Medicare, which will expand bulk billing.
