Dare Fasasi, popularly known as Baba Dee, is an award-winning Swedish-Nigerian artiste, filmmaker, director and producer who started his career in 1997. With a career spanning decades, Baba Dee has made a significant impact on Nigeria’s music scene.

His song, Stand For Road, produced by Kelikome, was initially released on November 11, 2018. He told Netng that the song holds a special place in his heart as the issue of trafficking becomes rampant.

“I started the Stand For Road project because of what I saw in Europe. There is a high rate of young girls that are being smuggled here. These girls are promised that they will get jobs and work. Eventually, they find out when they get to Europe that it’s not what they were promised. A lot of them are forced into prostitution for years, paying ridiculous amounts to their traffickers.”

The video, released on November 19, 2021, is part of his Stand For Road awareness campaign, which sheds light on the human trafficking situation in Europe. Facilitating the campaign is the Naija Ninja Stockholm camp, an affiliate of Naija Ninjas, the company he and the late Sound Sultan, his younger brother, started in 2007.

“I made this to shine a light on the issue and work with the Swedish authorities to address the human trafficking,” he said.

According to the global slavery index, 23% of global human trafficking occurs in Africa, of which 63% are victims of sexual trafficking.

Baba Dee also announced the return of the annual Festac Music Festival on December 30, 2021. The festival had been on a break for two years due to COVID-19.
