Tiwa didn’t just showcase her prowess at the Livespot X Festival on Friday night; she used the opportunity to be a beacon to upcoming Nigerian artistes.
Tiwa Savage gave us an unforgettable night of performances with her hit records; she also gave us a chance to see young, upcoming talent breathe and spread their wings on the big stage.
Tiwa brought out Goya Menor, the artiste responsible for the now-viral cover of popular ‘Ameno Amapiano’. The song has quickly become a trend on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, shooting the songwriter to fame.
Joined on stage by actress, DJ and popular party girl Dorcas Shola-Fapson, Goya brought the crowd to their feet in excitement. The viral hit, released on June 17, 2021, is already topping the charts making it a massive breakthrough for Goya Menor.
Tiwa’s next artiste was Nigerian street sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable. Portable recently shot to limelight with his ‘Zazu Zeh’ hit in which he featured award-winning superstar, Olamide, and famous dancer and choreographer, Pocolee.
She brought him on stage to perform and encouraged him by spraying him with money as he danced on stage. The energetic singer was quick to appreciate Tiwa Savage saying, ‘I would like to thank Tiwa Savage for bringing me out tonight to represent the streets!’
Tiwa also took her time to share the stage with fast-rising stars like Ayra Starr, Ruger, AV, Dai Verse, Lojay to do their thing under the spotlight. The crowd loved it and couldn’t get enough of the ‘new kids on the block’. It’s good to see more prominent artistes showcasing what the newer talent has to offer and giving them a stage to shine.
