Bimbo Success has won the NET Honours Class of 2022 award for the Most Searched Actress beating award-winning actresses like Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, Iyabo Ojo, and Osas Ighodaro.
Bimbo Success is the daughter of Chief Isaac Adebayo Ogundare, popularly known as Adebayo Success, who is often attributed as one of the founders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and was the leader of the Lagos chapter of the union before he died in 2002 at the age of 61.
While Chief Adebayo Success was a successful road transport worker, he wanted his daughter to be an actress.
“It’s my dad that made me love this job (acting). He really likes the job, so he took me to Nike Peller, and she trained me,” she said in an interview with Gbajumo TV.
Bimbo Success debuted in the 1999 movie Tiro Aranmoju. Shortly after she graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a degree in Mass Communication, she began to feature more regularly in movies, including some hit movies like Ajulo (2019), The Ring (2018), and Ise Orin (2017).
Using verified data imported from Google Search Console on Netng, Bimbo Success was searched 29,611 times, followed by Funke Akindele 28,325, Nancy Isime 16,724, and Osas Igbodaro in the last 12 months calendar period.
In November 2021, when Bimbo Success announced the arrival of her twin babies, the internet was set agog with congratulatory messages. She later shared how Funke Akindele assisted her when one of her newborns suffered from a severe cough, paying for the hospital bills that amounted to ₦1 million.
“I was talking to Aunty Funke when she heard one of my sons coughing. She said Bimbo, this cough is too much. I told her I just came back from hospital not quite long, but she said I should bring him to hospital at Lekki that night around 12:30 am.”
The testimony of Funke’s benevolence to her sparked curiosity among Nigerians as thousands began to search for her on Google.
