The UEFA women’s Euros are turning into a huge success both on and off the pitch after the Lionesses completed an astonishing 8-0 win over Norway on Monday night to take them into the quarter-finals.
Spare a thought though for Alan Sugar, whose enjoyment of the tournament has been spoiled by a perceived lack of men in the BBC’s brilliant coverage so far.
There was no shortage of people happy to put him right, as we’ve written about here, but he was at it again during last night’s incredible game.
And we’re very glad he did because the tweet caught the attention of Ian Wright himself, who took the time to record a short response, and just when you think it can’t get any better … it does.

Match-winning stuff.
And here’s just a flavour of the love people were feeling for the former Arsenal and England forward.
We all love Ian Wright and the brilliant male ally he is for the womens game, but I LOVE what he has said here in response to Alan Sugar “the only thing you could find a fault with (in the womens euros), doesn’t even exist” 😊😅 he’s not wrong and thank you for watching! 😂 https://t.co/TPk0EyyD3b

Last word to the BBC’s Gaby Logan.
Is this a parody account?
