Seahorse hotels deep below the surface of the water on the New South Wales mid-north coast are providing hope for the future of the endangered species.
Three hundred endangered babies checked in today and were released into the wild as part of a joint conservation breeding program between Sydney's Sea Life Aquarium and the NSW Department of Primary Industries.

The seahorse breeding program is in its fourth year, providing a world-first avenue for the endangered species endemic to Sydney Harbour.
More than 700 seahorses will be released back into the wild this year, which is the program's biggest release to date.
Seahorse babies can be adopted on the Sea Life Aquarium website for $45.
