The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (AICPA & CIMA), have awarded 67 Ghanaian accounting and finance professionals with the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
The Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation is the premier management accounting credential, indicating one has advanced proficiency in finance, operations, strategy and management. The designation is provided to those who have completed CIMA’s CGMA Professional qualification and applied for the membership successfully.
At the convocation ceremony, guest speaker and Deputy Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Ray Ankrah entreated the new members to pursue value addition to grow the businesses in which they find themselves.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants works closely with employers and sponsors leading-edge research, constantly updating its professional qualification and professional experience requirements to ensure it remains the employer’s choice when recruiting financially trained business leaders.
At this year’s convocation, Mr. Ankrah urged the new members to continuously develop their skills to add value to their organizations.
“You have advances in digital technology, you cannot ignore it, you have to embrace technology because it is meant to be an enabler and help you do things quicker, faster and cheaper so it is very important”, he mentioned.
Country Director of Ghana, Benin and Cameroon at AICPA &CIMA Paul Aninakwah also urged the new members to acquire relevant skills that would help their businesses to navigate turbulent economic times.
