That led to another fine, this time for $1,500, confirmed by the court on April 25, 2025.</p><p>In both cases, the violations fell under a specific clause of <a href="https://www.legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/document/rc/P-29,%20r.%201/" target="_blank">Quebec's food regulations</a>, which require that any place used for food preparation or storage must be completely free of pest-related contamination.</p><p>Despite the seriousness of the findings, the LaSalle location was not shut down. MAPAQ confirmed that closures are only enforced if there's an imminent public health risk, which inspectors did not deem necessary in this case.
