These US products just got hit with new tariffs — Here’s what’ll cost you more in Quebec

The counter-tariffs, targeting aluminum imports and other U.S.-made products, were <a href="https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/news/2025/03/canada-responds-to-unjustified-us-tariffs-on-canadian-steel-and-aluminum-products.html" target="_blank">announced Wednesday</a> by Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, and Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne.</p><p>The "dollar-for-dollar" response is hitting $12.6 billion worth of steel products, $3 billion worth of aluminum, and an additional $14.2 billion in other goods.</p><p>The federal government released a list of 539 <a href="https://www.mtlblog.com/tariffs-quebec-canada-poll" target="_blank">American items</a> now subject to the 25% tariff when they arrive in Canada.
