Sam said: “Having been the manager of this team since 2018-19 season the treble is our proudest achievement. It’s absolutely amazing.

“Stephen joined the Reds management team from January 2022 and together we have encouraged and supported this U12 girls football team, in training and how they play.

“The girls talent and performances are outstanding, always giving 100%. We also fully recognise the support and commitment from all their parents, none of this would be possible without everything coming together.”

The Lancashire Cup game was described as the ‘pinnacle of the season’ by parent, Linda Douglas. In the last three minutes of the game, the girls fought back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.

At full time the game was to be decided by penalties, with the goalkeeper saving every shot. It was then her turn to take a penalty and she landed it perfectly in the net with the last strike of the game.

Stephen Woods said: “This treble-winning girls U12 football team is a squad that has triumphed in three major competitions in a single season.

“It’s a remarkable achievement that showcases their talent, hard work, and dedication. Winning the league, Coulton cup, and the Lancashire cup tournament unbeaten in one season is a testament to their skills and teamwork.

“It’s truly inspiring to see such success in women’s football. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

The group is one of the only girl’s teams in Lancashire who have completed the treble.
