AN NFL fan splurged $1,200 on tickets for her husband’s birthday, but as game day approached, she was unable to access the tickets.

Regina Schimmeyer wanted to surprise her husband, Michael, a diehard Denver Broncos fan, with tickets to the team’s upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Schimmeyer managed to snag a pair of tickets for more than $1,200 from the ticket re-seller website StubHub.

The club-level tickets included a parking pass for the big game.

However, when Schimmeyer tried to download the tickets, she received an error message saying they had been removed.

Schimmeyer eventually reached out to NBC affiliate WFLA-TV‘s Better Call [Shannon] Behnken for help.

The outlet shared the woman’s story online, and that’s when a viewer offered Schimmeyer a separate pair of tickets

Schimmeyer eventually received a pair of tickets and a parking pass for $400.

“It was great just being in that kind of atmosphere and the excitement,” she told WFLA.

“It was a wonderful experience. It was great, and no matter who I wanted to win, the topping or the best thing that could have ever happened was watching the Broncos win for my husband and just seeing my husband happy.”

But Schimmeyer told the outlet she’s still waiting for StubHub to refund her for the $1,200 tickets she purchased.

StubHub told The U.S. Sun they contacted Schimmeyer before the September 22 game to resolve the issue.

The ticket resell website said under its FanProtect Guarantee, Schimmeyer is entitled to “an equivalent or better ticket or a full refund.”

“StubHub is committed to providing fans with a secure and seamless ticketing experience,” the website said in a statement to The U.S. Sun.

“Our FanProtect Guarantee ensures that every order is 100% backed, and if there is an issue, we will strive to find an equivalent or better ticket or provide a full refund.”

The ticket seller said its team spoke with Schimmeyer before the game and reached an agreement.

“Our team connected with Mrs. Schimmeyer on Friday, September 20, to explore replacing her tickets with a comparable option, and she chose to receive a full refund.

“Per her request, we initiated the refund Friday, September 20, for her tickets and parking passes – this will be reflected in her account within 10 business days from that date.”

StubHub also clarified that ticket resellers do not receive customer payments until the buyer gets through the door at an event.

“There is no incentive to post a ticket without the intention of delivering on the sale,” the company said.

What is StubHub?

StubHub has been in business for over two decades after being launched in March 2000 by Stanford MBA students Eric Baker and Jeff Fluhr.

StubHub is a ticket marketplace that allows users to buy and sell tickets for live events, such as concerts, sports, and theater, on its website.

The website is the world’s leading marketplace for fans to buy and sell tickets to various live events.

StubHub does add fees to their tickets, with the website listing the following rules:

  • There is no set percentage for fees, and fees can change based on ticket price, time to event, updated event information, and supply and demand.
  • Our fees and prices are competitive with other marketplaces.
  • You can see the total price, including estimated fees, by using the filter and selecting include estimated fees.
  • You’ll see the total ticket cost, including a list of all fees, at checkout.
