Woman dead, man under police guard in hospital after incident at Sydney hotel

A woman has been found dead and a man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after an incident at a hotel in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to a hotel on Mulgoa Road in Penrith about 1.10pm after the woman was found dead in a room.

A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found in the same room suffering cuts to his arms, according to police.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition under police guard.

The woman is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command have established a crime scene, with inquiries to be conducted by PAC detectives, assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
