Aldi may be one of the most popular discount supermarkets at the moment, but the chain has managed to upset a few customers.
Recently, an Aldi shopper posted on X to ask the official Aldi account a pressing question.
The tweet started off, “@AldiUSA When are you bringing back the Sundae Shoppe Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches?”
The tweet ended with an ice cream sundae emoji.
But it wasn’t good news for this customer.
AldiUSA promptly responded to the post, and not with the answer the shopper was looking for.
The supermarket’s official X page responded: “Sadly, no news on our Sundae Shoppe Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches returning.”
The reply continued, “Our team would love to hear that you’re missing them! Share your suggestions.”
A link to Aldi’s feedback form was provided in the reply.
“In the meantime, be sure to check out some of our other cool ice cream treats in stores now,” the post ended.
Aldi’s response prompted other shoppers to get involved.
One person commented: “Good. We don’t need the jumbo, just keep the regular and mini sizes. America is too fat now!”
There weren’t any more replies from the retailer.
Aldi directed customers to its online feedback form, so it’s likely that with enough feedback, the popular dessert could return.
Sundae Shoppe Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches, were introduced by Aldi in mid-2024 and quickly became a fan favorite.
The indulgent treats featured generous portions of creamy ice cream between two soft chocolate wafers.
Available in flavors like vanilla and cookies & cream, the moreish treats are sure to be missed.
Still craving Sundae Shoppe’s ice cream treats? Aldi continues to offer other options.
Regular-sized ice cream sandwiches remain available with reduced-fat vanilla ice cream.
