Driver left in hospital with serious injuries after Garstang Road assault

A man has been arrested after a fellow driver was left in hospital as a result of an assault.

Police were called to Garstang Road at around 7.50pm last night (30 March) to reports of an assault. Blog Preston understands that a crash had also taken place.

Officers attended and found a man in his 30s had been assaulted by another man close to the junction with Blackpool Road.

The victim suffered serious head and rib injuries and is being treated in hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

A 42-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody.
