After insisting for weeks that her relationship with former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Chris Hughes was platonic, Jojo Siwa has spoken out for the first time about their romance.
The two met in the CBB house in April, where they quickly formed a strong friendship that lasted throughout their stint on the reality show.
Since then, Jojo has become single, with the two spending an increasing amount of time together in the outside world.
After allusions to things having taken a romantic turn (including changing a lyric in Bette Davis Eyes to “Chris Hughes’ eyes” during a live performance) and even a photo emerging appearing to show them kissing, Jojo has now set the record straight during an interview with The Guardian.
The Karma singer said: “It’s not platonic any more, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way.”
Responding to critics who might suggest the relationship is just a “PR stunt”, Jojo fired back: “Clearly, you’ve never been around us. I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.”
On Sunday evening, Chris also posted an intimate picture of himself and Jojo in bed together.

Before entering the CBB house, Jojo said she identified as a lesbian, and has credited her experience on the reality show with helping her further explore both her sexuality and gender identity, and now describes herself using the label “queer”.
She previously shut down the suggestion that the former Love Island star was the cause of her split from her partner Kath Ebbs, with whom she broke up just hours after leaving the CBB house earlier this year.
