A MCDONALD’S fan has slammed the “absolutely insane” reason why a $10 meal suddenly surges to $25 due to a catch.

Several customers took to social media to discuss the issue of rising fast food prices, and it seems that convenience is getting pricier.

It all started after a fast food enjoyer expressed shock online over the price he paid for his order.

That caused a chain reaction that soon lost control.

The initial post on X from May 24 said: “Yesterday I paid $40 for 3 tacos and a strawberry lemonade.

“This can’t be the world I’m supposed to build a family in.”

It is not known where he went to get this food, and people in the comments were surprised at how much he paid for so little.

This post spawned a thread that consisted of multiple customers complaining about fast food prices.

The first post on the thread said: “One neat child raising hack I’ve discovered is not paying $11 for a taco.”

This sentiment was backed up by another social media user, who agreed that not paying to eat out is better than doing so.

They added: “I hate that eating out is ridiculously expensive but the silver lining is that I stopped doing it because I cant justify spending $10 on 2 McDonald’s cheeseburgers.”

It only continued from there, as even more people settled on the fact that eating out is just too expensive to justify.

Someone else wrote: “I basically only eat out at nicer places now since the food costs about the same and it’s higher quality.”

THE TABLES TURN

Then, the table were turned slightly, and Doordash came under fire for making the problem even worse.

It makes sense that delivery companies like Doordash can charge a bit extra for the convenience of getting it to your door.

However, in the final post on the thread, one person seemed to swear off eating out and fast food delivery, slamming it as “insane”.

They noted: “Same and forget about Doordash. That is insanity to me.

“Imagine instead of $10, you pay 25 for 2 McDonalds cheeseburgers. Absolutely insane.”

  • Fries
  • Four-piece chicken nuggets

Due to ordering the food at your home, this person claims that it costs them an extra $15.

If costs are rising to this degree, fast food giants like McDonald’s could see themselves struggling with disaffected diners.

With a particularly unstable US economy creating lots of uncertainty, the fast food industry is one of the most in-flux.

Online ordering is a huge part of a restaurant’s business, and if prices continue to rise, it could pose a serious problem going forward.
