More details have emerged about a huge new development planned for fields off a busy motorway junction.
Known as Frontier Park the site covers 26.5 hectares and borders the current Bluebell Way service station and James Hall SPAR site on the border between Fulwood and Grimsargh.
A current stable yard is due to be demolished to make way for the new industrial park with five employment unit buildings and two new drive-through food and drink units near Junction 31A of the M6.

Monte Blackburn Limited are currently seeking views from those nearby about their proposals and have released artist impressions and overhead maps showing the extent of the site.

It’s northern and eastern edges would run up to the Cow Hill area, popular with walkers, runners and cyclists between Haighton and Grimsargh.
No formal planning application has been lodged for the Little Rough Hey Farm site in Bowland View – close to Bluebell Way – other than a ‘scoping opinion’ application which saw Preston City Council say an environmental impact assessment would be needed to accompany any planning application.
The developers state: “A significant landscape buffer is proposed to the northern and eastern boundaries of the site to ensure separation from the residential dwellings along Cow Hill, together with opportunities for biodiversity enhancement.”

A short survey on the Frontier Park website is available for people to indicate if they support or don’t support the proposals and give their comments.
As reported back in March there have been concerns raised by National Highways about the volume of lorry traffic in the area as a result of the proposals as the nearby Junction 31A only allows exit via the northbound motorway and entry via the southbound motorway.
