South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence head Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo is scheduled to appear before the Pretoria Regional Court on Wednesday.
The court will hear further evidence in a case involving charges of fraud and corruption against Khumalo and six others.
The intelligence chief and his co-accused were arrested in June by the National Prosecuting Authority’s Investigating Directorate Against Corruption.
The charges stem from the alleged irregular appointment of Brigadier Dineo Mokwele to a senior position within SAPS Crime Intelligence, allegedly bypassing required vetting procedures and the procurement of two luxury buildings in Pretoria and Durban with a combined price tag of around R44 million.
