A 26-year-old man has been denied bail in the Temba Magistrate’s Court north of Pretoria, following the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend Kgaugelo Marota last week.
The suspect also wounded his current girlfriend. He posted reasons for his alleged actions on social media.
Marota’s uncle, Zakes Seema says, “She had a protection order against that monster, but it didn’t help as you know that in South Africa it’s like a norm, many women have been killed with protection orders under their names, so it doesn’t help, it’s just a piece of paper.”
