Inside the Harris ahead of re-opening Pic: Michael Porter Photography
The Harris Museum, Art Gallery and Library reopens this weekend after almost four years of closure.
Ahead of the long-awaited day – which will see Preston-born Oscar winner Nick Park cut the ribbon – Blog Preston was invited for a sneak peak of the £19 million transformation.
Ed, Alice and I explored the various floors and exhibitions, enjoying being back in The Harris with all its iconic features looking refreshed and lifted.
We also chatted to key people involved in the reopening, including lead architect Neal Charlton, Egyptian artist Khaled Hafez, and Nick Park himself – stay tuned for more from those conversations soon.

Local photographer, Mick Porter was also there to capture the old and new of the Grade I listed building. Scroll on to see a selection of his images.
