A Lancashire Constable has been recognised internationally with an award for mentoring and coaching.
Nikki Nabi received her International Association of Women Police’s Mentoring and Coaching Award on Monday, 8 September, for her dedication to fostering inclusivity and breaking barriers in policing.
Recognised internationally through her Police Beep In the Community Initiative to test female candidates’ fitness levels, Nikki’s model made her stand out in this competition.

Beyond her fitness initiative, PC Nabi collaborated with women who wear a hijab, manufacturers, and clothing stores to develop a product suitable for policing duties.
With an aim to encourage more Muslim women to consider policing as a viable career, Nabi also champions women’s rights and inclusivity within the profession.
The award was presented by the President of the IAWP, Julia Jaegar.
In support of Nikki Nabi’s work, she said: “PC Nabi’s tireless mentoring and coaching contributions are impactful and rare, leaving a legacy of empowerment and inspiration for women police officers.
“She empowers others, advancing diversity and ensuring representation within policing. We often quote Sir Robert Peel, who said: “The police are the public, and the public are the police,” and in my view, PC Nabi is working hard to make this a reality.
“I’m delighted we are able to honour PC Nabi’s achievements and spotlight them to a global policing audience, ensuring British Policing continues to represent a high standard of care.”
