Preston Probus Club, a space set up for older people to connect and meet new friends, recently celebrated its 51st year.
The group, which celebrated their anniversary on Thursday, 4 September, meet fortnightly at Our Lady and St Edward Parish Centre in Fulwood to talk about all things non religious and non political.
Whilst it was created in 1974, the club will go into its 51st season under a new president, Peter Wild.

Taking the role from outgoing John Hally, Peter said: “It is an honour for me to take Preston Probus Club into the new season, and we definitely have something to suit all tastes this year.
“As well as providing an opportunity for socialising, making new friends and leading an active retirement, members can keep up to date with the world around us thanks to our great line-up of invited speakers.
“Our talks will cover history, music, fictional crime, the environment, and current affairs. Plus, we will get a behind-the-scenes view of the work of a Customs Officer and also hear about the RNLI, which recently celebrated its 200-year anniversary.”
