Sam Pegram Foundation hosted a football tournament this past August to raise funds for Sir Tom Finney Soccer Centre’s work with refugees.
In honour of the late Penwortham-born dedicated humanitarian worker, Sam Pegram, the foundation uses his mission of creating a safe space for refugees to integrate further into society.
Held at Sam’s former school, Penwortham Priory, the match added £989 to their total of £5000 for the charity.

Chairman of Sir Tom Finney Soccer Centre, Peter Mason, said: “The Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre would like to thank the Sam Pegram Humanitarian Foundation for their continued support.
“The donation received will allow the Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre to continue our work in relation to our refugee and asylum seeker sessions by covering the cost of facility hire and replacing kit and equipment.”

The foundation is looking for its next tournament, aiming to further champion Sam’s legacy of togetherness and community spirit.
Following his death over five years ago, the charity continues to work towards keeping his name alive through fundraisers like this one.
