A teenager has raised nearly £1,500 in memory of his friend who died last month.
Harry Davis has been walking a mile-a-day for the first ten days of October mainly around the city’s Docks.
His friend, Nina Papierniok, died aged just 13. Harry has been walking to raise money for the charity YoungMinds which works to help children and young people with mental health.

On Friday 10 October the 13-year-old was joined by his friends and family, as well as Nina’s family, as around 60 people walked the Docks and held lights and glowsticks in Nina’s memory.
Harry’s mother, Alyssa, said: “Every single step has been for Nina. We are so thankful to each and every single person who has supported Harry, donated, shared or walked beside him.
“It has been truly heart-warming to see everyone come together in such an amazing way.”

She said the final night of walking was ‘one to remember’ as people wore glow wands and glowing headbands.
Alyssa said: “It was a true walk of colour, like a rainbow in the sky, in memory of a beautiful girl.
“For anyone struggling, please reach out, talk and seek help. You are never alone.”
The Ribble Pilot pub at the Docks hosted Harry and Nina’s families and friends after the walk at a celebration of Nina’s life and to mark Harry’s efforts in memory of his friend.

Harry’s fundraiser for YoungMinds remains open for donations via the charity’s website.
