The routes are in Sandton, around Nasrec in the South where the summit will be held and in Roodepoort. JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says should follow advisories for smoother travel in the coming days.
” I think the main complaint was notification. I know with the previous operations, and especially the ones before last month, there was no communication at all. Last month, we did start to release communication slowly, and the people were frustrated, but they didn’t know. However, we can comfortably say that with these preparations for this weekend and next weekend, we have sent out proper communication so that residents are aware of these significant disruptions in the city of Johannesburg to avoid the affected routes and to also use the alternative routes available.”
