President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the “Not In My Name Provincial Men’s Indaba” in Bloemfontein, Free State today.
The event aims to mobilise men and boys to fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.
Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, says “Our province carries the scars of gender based violence and femicide. If you recall way back around year 2023 and 2024, there were a lot of cases of missing girls and women, and we’re starting to see that it’s repeating itself once more. So, this time around, we said that can’t we do things differently, perhaps there’s a need to engage men more than women- because we’ve been marching, we’ve been together as women, we’ve been to churches, praying for this to end- but instead of ending, the numbers are actually increasing.”
