“But it is such a good looking pub and we wanted to do something new.

“We looked around a number of pubs which are up for operating in the area but we feel this one has so much history to it and it’s not too big either.”

The Samuel Smiths chain the pub has strict rules about what you can and can’t do inside and is well known for its no mobile phones rule as well as not having music or TVs.

The pub dates back to the early 1700s and is a grade-II listed building and was closed in mid-February this year.

Zara said: “It’s been closed since February and a lot of work had been done before that, so we’ve not needed to do anything major and it’s been quick to get it ready for reopening. While it’s a tough time for pubs, we like a challenge and wanted to do this.

“We just want to get open and see who comes in and see how it goes really. We’re planning to operate it much as it was before and be a traditional pub, and all the rules from previously will be in place too.”

The doors re-open from 11am on Wednesday.
