Tenants, families and friends of a local care home have donated £1,980 to a Preston charity.

Ribbleton’s Ainscough Brook House have donated the money to Rosemere Cancer Foundation who help people both in Lancashire and Cumbria.

The housing scheme for those aged 55 plus raised their donation following their manager’s husband’s successful treatment at the centre.

“The chemotherapy unit treats 200 patients a day. It made me realise what a brilliant place, Rosemere Cancer Centre, is but also, that it is always looking for new equipment to help make treatment better for its patients.”

Isa also added that the team are going to again raise funds for the charity in the future.

Regular raffles and, cake sales and a summer fayre were a few of the schemes used to help fundraise the money within the community.

Hannah Leahy, fundraising assistant for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “Our thanks to everyone at Ainscough Brook House for this incredible community donation.

“We will make sure it is put to supporting projects that directly benefit chemotherapy unit patients as requested.”
