A South Ribble social group has recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The Preston South Ribble Tangent group celebrated four decades with a celebratory meal in November.
It was set up in 1985 with the aim of bringing women together to socialise and make new friends.

With meet-ups usually in Penwortham, Longton and Lostock Hall, the group is a part of the National Association of Tangent Clubs and the Round Table Family.
A membership fee of £11 per year in 2025, there is a minimum of two events per month, with a coffee morning and evening event to involve members of the club.
Gloria, the founder member of Preston South Ribble Tangent Club talked about the four decade anniversary.

She said: “To celebrate this momentous occasion, we had a very special commemorative lunch at Farington Lodge.
“Six members of the National Executive, including the President Josie, travelled from both ends of the Country.”
Gloria added: “A number of founder Members attended along with current Members, other local clubs, friends and family.
“The raffle for this event raised a fantastic £1000 for The British Heart Foundation.”
