Two weekends of live music and entertainment are set to return to South Ribble.

Penwortham Live is set to take place on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 May, while Longton Live will happen on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June.

The events will bring around 250 live performances to over 30 venues – from buzzing bars to unique, unexpected spaces such as churches and shops.

The South Ribble Live events are organised by South Ribble Borough Council in partnership with the Creative Network.

Councillor Matthew Farnworth, South Ribble Borough Council Cabinet Member for Parks, Events and Culture, said: “We’re delighted that these hugely popular South Ribble Live events are back for 2026.

“These weekends don’t just bring fantastic entertainment for the thousands that attend, they also support local businesses and shine a spotlight on talented local performers.

“Keep an eye out for more updates, but in the meantime, save the dates for two brilliant weekends of live music entertainment across Penwortham and Longton.”

Entry is by wristband priced at £6, which will cover entry into all venues for each weekend. Children under 12 years old go free.

Nigel Stewart from the Creative Network said: “The standard of our performers is through the roof.  A young performer who has been performing at our events for the last three years is now part of Simon Cowell’s latest Boy Band, December 10. Many others have gone on to work in the entertainment business, including a Penwortham woman who recently performed at a prestigious venue in Nashville.”

Details of how to buy wristbands, what’s on and where are coming soon to the Discover South Ribble website.

Performers interested in being part of South Ribble Live can contact the Creative Network at info@thecreativenetwork.org, while venues keen to take part should email events@southribble.gov.uk for further details.
